Ladies and gents, we are enjoying the view and shades of Sakura Trees and the Sun is finally giving a smile more regularly in the Northwest while the Tulips are spreading a colorful Spring view here in the Northwest, especially in beautiful Oregon State :).
As you start to mow the backyard, cleaning out the garage and emptying out the storage house, remember there are several things you may want to do to make this Summer more enjoyable than the last. For starters, how about a garage sale with your neighbors or a carwash with your church or organization.
And for those that can afford it, do not forget to check out the boat show or walk the show rooms within your city. There are still awesome deals out there. If you have the budget to get a boat this Summer, it would add an extra fun to your Summer outing.
Before buying though, make sure you understand the boating requirements of your state as well as understanding your credit score and all that awesome details. I contributed a little bit about credit score on my blog on www.mycoconut.com. Make sure to check that out.
Another thing that most of us tend to forget when buying a boat is insurance. Make sure you can afford insuring your boat. Some insurance have packages that includes your boats, rental property or house so be sure to check around.
In addition to Insurance, make sure you have a place to store your boat or you will end up buying a storage which is probably expensive. I wouldn’t recommend you buy a boat if you do not have a place to store it, unless of course you do not mind the extra cost.
If you are a mechanic or someone that can repair boats and engines on your own, then you have a great advantage. Just buy a used boat and fix it up. That is what I am doing right now. My boat is almost ready. I just have to buy the motors for it.
Last but not the least, make sure your boat is titled and registered and that you are licensed to operate a boat. I know not all states required licensing so please check with the apropriate agency.
Do not forget, just like on the roads, boating and drinking alcohol do not mix! lol.
Otherwise, adding a boat to your Summer Budget will increase the fun this year for you and your family. Please invite me to come join you on your boat so we can have fun together. Hehehe. I pray that your Summer will be full of fun and excitement.
