Dear FSM community & friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to all FSM islanders, friends, family and allies who participated and helped out with the last FSM Community Day that we celebrated a coupled days ago.

I cannot thank you all enough for your generosity and the hard work you put in to help make this year’s FSM Community Day such a success. Many people contributed in so many ways. Whether it be in donating food, money, advice or perhaps in performing, cheering, and showing up with your island spirit, you all are the reason why the day was a success. Many people were working behind the scenes and some were simply sending me text messages to encourage and give advice. Indeed it is because of you FSMers that the day went well.

Yes, I know, there were so many things that could have been improved. I know that we fell short in some areas and it was not all perfect. I know we could have planned a little better. I know that there are many many more people that we could have reached out to. Maybe the food was not to your taste and you felt that your community should have taken part too.. My sincerest apologies. We will try our very best to make it better and to improve. But I also ask for your continued support for our beloved FSM and Micronesian community.

If I did not notice you at the event or I did not greet you or get a chance to tell you thank you for coming, please know that I am deeply grateful and thrilled that you came.

Once again my sincerest Thank you, Kinisou, Kalahngan, Kulo, and Gammagar!

tHANKS!

If we learned a thing or two from our Preamble, it’s that “TO MAKE ONE NATION OF MANY ISLANDS, WE RESPECT THE DIVERSITY OF OUR CULTURES. OUR DIFFERENCES ENRICH US. THE SEAS BRING US TOGETHER, THEY DO NOT SEPARATE US…”

“And the good news [is], we’re…[ready] to start negotiations on the COFA, which I know you’ve been waiting for. I don’t know when we’ll get started, but we now have the authority to do that. …We’re all set; we’re all clear, so we’ll set a path forward before too long.” U.S Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo
