Counting the days
until Spring 2019 Arrives
Did you see them Rams last night? They were the real America’s Team. At least that’s what my brothers and sisters in Dallas were saying after that game last night. Hehehe.
Alright, Alright. I know I was not happy with what the SeaHawks faced in Dallas the previous Saturday, against the Referees and the Cowboys. But I am kind of relief that none of them will face off with my PATS today.
So instead of dwelling on what had transpired in Cali last night, let’s get down to business.
Yesterday morning was surprisingly warm for this time of year and was pretty sunny too. I was Ubering early in the morning but my mind was in my front yard as I was ready to change the turf into something the cowboys won’t be able to handle, even with the referees working for them. Ooops, I did it again!
Next thing I know, I was using my aerator to basically scrape off the grass. I wanted to take as much grass out as I can.
The plan is to install a totally new Sprinkler/Irrigation System to have it ready for Amazon Alexa and to have it on full automation so I do not have to watch how much water used or needed. Hopefully Alexa will just fill me in on what needs to be done. Finger crossed.
Second, I used a different type of grass in my backyard and it looked super dark green. I want that in my front yard, so I got to do it. We’ll see if I can find the exact same grass seedings.
Third, I am moving the light post on the south side further south to open up the walkway. The driveway itself is another project I am contemplating but that would be for 2020. Lots of thoughts had to go into that one, whether to use blocks or concrete slabs. We’ll see.
Got lots of things done on a beautiful chilly morning here in the Pacific Northwest.
And I am ready to cheer for them PATS!!!!
Plans/Goals for 2019
Spring 2018 Project
Temporary Deck Demolition
Yobo is taking the temporary deck apart so we can lay the foundation of the new deck.
I wouldn't even do this kind of planning if it weren't for the Inspection Requirements. It's just something that had to be done for safety and for a piece of mind.
Foundation of the New Deck
The foundation is almost completed awaiting final inspection from city officials.
Racoons are mean! Yes they are. They can destroy your sod grass looking to kill all of your hardworking soil making earth friendly worms. I thought racoons were friendly that I enjoyed seeing one walking right outside the door while I was enjoying the view. Later I found out s/he may be the one that literally folded up the sod grass I installed a couple days earlier.
You know what? If the scenery is not what you desire, there’s a way of dealing with that. You can uproot everything and move, or you can get to work and change it for the better. Not so much for the better as I have heard it many times; “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.” but make it to your satisfaction. What’s more bettern than sitting back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Ika met? Gare meta?
